We believe that sharing is the new owning. In particular when it comes to cars. We see that cars are left unused for about 80% of the time, either stuck in traffic, in parking garages, or on the driveway at home. This can and must be changed. That is why we have developed a shared car platform, that allows us to guarantee 100% mobility. Because there is always an Amber available, so you can drive wherever and whenever you want.
At the moment, Amber has hubs in Eindhoven, Den Bosch, Utrecht, Tilburg, Amsterdam, Amersfoort and Rotterdam. Later this year, we will be opening hubs for our customers and drivers in all provinces. In the medium-term future, we want to introduce our concept to the Belgian and Danish markets.
The name Amber has everything to do with the origin of electricity. In Greek, the words Amber and electricity are the same, i.e. electron. The Greeks were the first to discover (static) electricity.
Amber was founded in Eindhoven in March 2016.
We offer a 100% ride guarantee. This means that an Amber car must always be available when drivers want to drive. That is why we use a predictive algorithm based on Artificial Intelligence techniques so that we can predict the use of our vehicles. By combining historical and real-time data, we can coordinate supply and demand well.
At the moment, we use BMW i3's: fully electric 4-seaters in a hatchback version.
With a full battery, you can average between 200 and 230 kilometres, depending on your driving behaviour.
Sure! Our cars are also insured in Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and France. However, keep in mind that we in the Netherlands are spoilt by the availability of many charging stations. If you are going abroad, you can check the NewMotion app for available charging stations.
Yes, they can. We make agreements with the employer about this.
If you join an existing hub, the contract can be terminated on a monthly basis. If your organisation is not close to a hub and we develop a specific hub, you have a minimum contract period of 6 months.
The cars are all-risk insured (statutory liability + full Casco) with a deductible of 200 euros per incident.
Our software uses encryption so we cannot trace any personal data. Every user has a randomly generated unique code. This guarantees the privacy of the user. However, if a driver abuses our services, we can access the database with the codes.
No insurance hassle, no long and inflexible contract periods!
There are no additional taxes, so you do not have to pay additional taxes on the Amber services.
We ensure that we have regular contact with our users. We also organise specific actions for our drivers or users, and we evaluate every Amber ride. We ask users to provide feedback.
That depends on a number of things. Is your organisation located near an existing Amber hub? If so, participation is possible with just one employee. If there is no Amber hub nearby, we will need to develop a hub. In that case, the minimum number of participants is four.
Every employee with a driving license can drive an Amber, but driving our shared cars is most suitable for ambulatory employees. Amber is also more than suitable to reduce your company’s pool cars or the number of lease cars.
Using an Amber car offers convenience, and it is relaxed, flexible and fun!
Convenient No more searching for a parking space and no more administrative hassle with mileage claims. Employees can easily book an Amber via the Amber app.
Relaxed With our Artificial Intelligence software, we can guarantee that there is always an Amber within walking distance. The Amber can also be left at another hub, which means that a return journey can also be made by train, for example.
Fun Driving up at an appointment in an electric BMW i3 with an acceleration speed of 0 to 100 in 7 seconds is a good way to start the day. Add to that some of the extras such as autonomous parking and adaptive cruise control. Happy Ambering!
We offer you future-proof mobility, and together we can realise a significant CO2 reduction. And most of all: you save money. Also, your employees will have access to an Amber. That guarantees that driving will always be Convenient, Relaxed and Fun!
Efficiency, efficiency and more efficiency. For example, you need fewer parking spaces. Instead of a new parking garage, you can use the site for more valuable things. Amber works, just ask ABN Amro, the bank that realised a 75% saving using our services.
If your company is not located at an existing Amber hub, we need to create special parking spaces and build charging stations. We want to help you achieve all this!
Of course. We understand that you want to see if Amber and your organisation are a match, and whether our solution suits your employees. That is why we offer a no-obligation pilot for 6 months. During those six months, we create a hub at your organisation, unless there is an Amber hub available at walking distance. And then we will work together get your employees involved so that they start using Amber. We will also assess the experiences and ease of use of your employees using the Ambers.
We help you to develop suitable mobility solutions for your employees. The end result is that employees will attach less and less value to the lease cars, and will use them less and less. This allows you to gradually reduce the fleet of lease cars.
Indeed, we can. We can manage them on your behalf, provided they are not polluting diesel cars. We can add them to our existing system. To this end, we place software in the cars so that we can track them and communicate with them. Discuss your options with the Amber sales team.
Unlike pool cars, which are often an add-on to the existing mobility solutions, we motivate users to use an Amber as often as possible. Only then will Amber's concept come into its own. With pool cars, employees usually have no guarantee about the availability of a car; often there are issues with the keys; and the booking system often dates back to the stone age. Amber offers a completely different experience. That is why our motto is: 100% availability, 100% sustainability and 100% hassle-free.
The answer to this question would be: very little time. If you decide to work with Amber, all you have to do is decide which payment system you want to use. You can choose between two systems: 1. you pay all rides or 2. your employees pay the rides, and you reimburse them. We arrange the rest. Easy, right?! Once the contract is finalised, our Marketing department will contact you to activate the users. We will also jointly determine the PR moments and streamline the communication about the collaboration.
There are no additional costs! Amber charges a fixed rate of €0.25 per minute. This rate is all-inclusive. There are therefore no additional costs for kilometres driven or electricity used, for example.
Yes! Between 18:00h and 8:00h and during the weekend, Amber users only pay the driving time. Overnight parking is free.
How much does an Amber cost?
€0.25 per driving minute & €0.10 per parking minute. Between 18:00h and 8:00h and during the weekend, you only pay the driving time. Overnight parking is free.
Electric cars do not produce CO2, unlike petrol, gas and diesel cars. Also, we charge our cars with green electricity. Furthermore, most of the interior consists of recycled materials. And last but not least, our current BMW i3s are 95% recyclable.
Amber enables you to offer your employees future-proof mobility solutions. And to top it all off, as a company, you contribute to reducing CO2 emissions, with guaranteed cost savings
Cost saving Amber can reduce your leased car fleet by 75%. But also think of reducing indirect costs such as maintenance, insurance and administrative handling of claims.
Convenience You will receive a clear monthly invoice.
Sustainability No CO2 emissions. Period.
Fun You offer your employees a cool, luxury, electric BMW i3. Their driving pleasure and convenience are guaranteed!
